Video : Supporting Torture of Khadafi

A shocking video shows a group of insurgents torturing prisoners Libya sub-Saharan African origin circulating on YouTube.

Video footage that showed a dozen or more men, probably mercenaries captured Moammar Khadafy, held in what looks like an animal cage at the zoo. Their hands were tied behind his back. They sat in a dirty cage floor. Not only that, their mouths gagged with the old flag of Libya.

The crowd that gathered around the cage was booed and they were forced to jump in place. People who take that scene sounded loud cursing. "Eat the flag," cried the man. He then summoned the prisoners to the name of the beast.

Mail Online, Saturday (03/03/2012), reported, it is impossible to verify whether it's video, which leaked to YouTube last week, the original and where and when the scene was filmed. Video comes as the United Nations said this week, Libyan revolutionary forces are committing torture against detainees. Group of revolutionary forces were still holding three-quarters of prisoners in the country's civil war. Lack of judicial police make the country's government can not control many of the prison, the UN said Wednesday.

About 6,000 prisoners are expected to remain at the facilities of the revolutionary forces. While the Justice Department's new Libya took a total of eight detention centers to handle 2382 people. The figure was announced by Ian Martin, UN Special Envoy to Libya, the UN Security Council.

Many of the prisoners are people from sub-Saharan Africa. Their captors accused the men as mercenaries Khadafy. However, in some cases, the charge was purely due to the fact that only those people with darker skin.

UN human rights bodies and aid groups have accused the groups of revolutionary troops torturing prisoners during the nine-month civil war, Libya. Martin has urged the Justice Department to expedite the process of Libya who assert government control over the detention centers. However, he said, "Progress continues complicated by insufficient numbers of police." He added, "We will continue to work closely with governments and encourage them to ensure that inspections of facilities that are known to do, that these locations are identified and controlled secret government, and that the offense under investigation."

Allegations of torture and disappearances against suspected loyalists Khadafy embarrass the National Transitional Council is now in charge of Libya. The council has vowed to stop the practices that had been done Khadafy regime and respect for human rights. It also makes awkward Western countries that supported the anti-Khadafy and assist in forming a new government of Libya.

Power for 42 years Khadafy regime collapsed when his troops fled from Tripoli in August last year. His regime actually ended in October when he was captured and killed rebels.

Ambassador of Libya, Abdurrahman Mohamed Shalgham, told the UN Security Council that the government handled the prisoners, including several former ministers and senior officials Khadafy, treated well. Shalgham said, "However, let me say that there are areas where the state is not able to control. No police or the courts in the area. We can not be responsible for all the excesses in all places. We are against them, we object to them, and We will punish the perpetrators of such acts. "
